Wild Oaks Ranch had another very successful year! Highlights of their breeding program are as follows:

Their fillies, Rosentanz and Prada, take the Champion and Reserve Champion titles, respectively, for the Great American/USDF Breeders’ Championship Southern Series.

Rosentanz (Rosenthal X Wiesentanz) was fourth USDF HOY in DSHB for 3 y/o fillies, and first USDF All Breeds for the German Oldenburgs 3 y/o fillies. Rosentanz was presented to the American Hanoverian Society in August for approval for breeding and received the high score of 8.16 which was the highest of the summer tour. We are very pleased that she is now in training with Emilee Reed of Star Gate Sporthorses and they were selected to participate in the Young Dressage Horse Trainers Symposium with Scott Hassler, Michael Klimke, and Ingo Pape. We are also expecting a foal by Sinatra Song x Rosentanz via embryo transfer for 2008.

Prada (Pablo X SPS Whitney) had a very good showing at the Proud Meadows Fall Breed Show Series winning fillies of 2006 class at both shows and was Reserve Champion filly of Show II and high placing Hanoverian for that show.

Roosevelt (Rubino Bellisimo X Wiesentanz) was the AHS inspection site champion wowing the judges and gallery with his phenomenol elastic and active trot. He was purchased by Jacquie Hawks.

Rising Star Farm reports:

2007 was a big year for Rising Star Farm in Georgetown, TX.  The annual BWP Keuring tour was held in August and the foals of RSF had a great showing.  Havana RSF (by Coronado WW out of Dream Chaser XX), was the high scoring filly of the entire BWP Keuring Tour!  The filly Hocus Pocus RSF (by Concorde B out of Shaylee XX) was awarded First Premium and our colt Herostan RSF (by Neostan out of Bala) was awarded Premium!  We are also very proud of the stallions Cielo B (Simsalabim x Jus de Pomme) and Concorde B (Concorde x Eros) - All of their 2007 foals were awarded Premium or First Premium status by the Belgian jury.

Other exciting news includes our Reserve Grand Champions!  Capriana (Contucci x Martini) bred by Zada Steidl, and owned by Rising Star Farm was the Reserve Grand Champion Mare at the Region 9, Great American/USDFBC Southern Series Final.  Capriana will be bred to both Royal Equus Farm's BWP approved stallion Sonntagskind for a ET foal and to Rainbow Equus Meadow's Escudo II in 2008.   Not to be left out, Deja Blue B, a BWP approved stallion bred by Bannockburn Farm, was the Reserve Grand Champion at the Great American/USDFBC Southern Series Final.  He is currently in training at October Hill Farm and made his level 3 debut in February, 2008.  Deja Blue B’s first foal crop will arrive in 2008.

In other news, Cinnamon B (Branco x Wellington), owned by Rising Star Farm, bred by Bannockburn Farm qualified for both the SWDC and the GAIC (Region 9), Training Level at her first and second dressage show ever!  At the Championship (her third show), Cinnamon B was 3rd in the GAIC and 5th in the SWDC with scores of 67% in both classes.  Cinnamon B is trained by Claire Darnell.

Here’s hoping 2008 is just as exciting!  Currently, Cielo B is showing in Gulfport for the Gulf Coast Winter Series.  He will make his 6 yo YJ debut the week of February 18th.  Cielo B is on track to complete his performance requirements for his permanent breeding license with the BWP this spring!  Concorde B and Deja Blue B will continue to show on the “A” circuit in Texas – keep an eye out for the boys of Rising Star Farm!
